Anchor Terms and Conditions
Last updated: August 18, 2026
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of Anchor, the status tracking app for iOS and Android published by Aruna Law Firm. By using Anchor, you agree to them.
These terms cover the Anchor app only. This website and the Vigil compliance platform are governed by the Aruna Software Terms of Service. What Anchor stores and who it is shared with is set out in the Anchor Privacy Policy.
1. What Anchor is
Anchor is a tool for tracking the dates on your own United States immigration documents. You upload a document, Anchor reads the fields off it, you confirm what it read, and it then tracks those dates and tells you when something is approaching.
2. What Anchor is not
Anchor is not legal advice, and using it does not create an attorney-client relationship with Aruna Law Firm. An attorney-client relationship is formed only through a written engagement agreement signed by both you and the firm.
This is the most important term here, and it is reflected throughout the product:
- Flags describe what your documents say about each other, for example that an I-94 date and an I-797 date disagree. They do not tell you what that means for your case.
- Nothing in the app recommends that you file, wait, or take any action.
- Updates in the feed are compressed summaries of published announcements. They are not interpreted for your situation.
Immigration consequences are serious and specific to you. Speak to a qualified immigration attorney about your case. You can request a consultation with this firm.
3. Your account
You need an account to use Anchor. You must give a valid email address and keep your password confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account.
One person, one account. Do not create an account on someone else's behalf without their knowledge.
4. What you upload
You may upload only documents that are yours, or that you are otherwise entitled to hold. Do not upload anyone else's immigration documents without their permission.
You keep ownership of everything you upload. You grant Aruna Law Firm only the licence needed to run the service: to store your documents, to send them to our document reading provider so their fields can be extracted, and to show them back to you.
5. Accuracy, and why you must check it
Anchor reads documents automatically, and automatic reading makes mistakes. This is why the app asks you to confirm every field before it is used. That review step is not a formality:
- A field Anchor cannot read clearly is returned blank and marked low confidence, rather than guessed at.
- A value that fails its expected format is flagged for you to check, whatever the reader claimed.
- Nothing is added to your profile until you have confirmed it.
You are responsible for checking that the dates are right. Anchor reminders and flags are only as good as the data you confirmed. Do not rely on Anchor as your only record of a deadline, and do not rely on it as a substitute for advice.
6. Reminders are best effort
Anchor may notify you before a date. Notifications depend on your device, your notification settings, network availability, and third party delivery services.
Do not treat a missing reminder as evidence that a deadline has not arrived. Reminders are a convenience, not a guarantee, and you remain responsible for your own deadlines.
7. Subscription and fees
- Anchor is offered on a subscription. The first 30 days are free, and after that it is $5 per month.
- Payment is taken through Stripe. Aruna Law Firm does not receive or store your card details.
- The subscription renews monthly until you cancel. You can cancel at any time, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for.
- If a renewal payment fails, your access continues while the payment is retried. If the subscription is then cancelled or left unpaid, access ends.
- Anchor is offered in the United States. Prices are in United States dollars.
- If the price changes, we will tell you before the change takes effect for your subscription.
8. Availability
We aim to keep Anchor working, but we do not guarantee that it will be available or uninterrupted. Features may change or be withdrawn.
9. Ending your use
You can delete your account at any time from within the app, or request deletion at arunalaw.com/anchor/delete-account without the app installed. Deletion takes effect after a 30 day grace period, during which you can cancel it. See the Anchor Privacy Policy for exactly what is removed and what is kept.
We may suspend or end access to an account that is used unlawfully, that uploads documents belonging to others without permission, or that abuses the service.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will be noted here, with the date at the top.
